What is a Segway?
The Segway personal transporter is a 2 wheeled, self-balancing personal transportation device designed to go anywhere people do. Operating it is very simple. To move forward just lean forward. To stop or move backwards simply lean backwards. To turn just move the handlebar in the direction you want to move. Although it is very simple to ride, the way it works is very complex. There are high tech gyroscopes, tilt sensors under each of your feet, and several computers that all work together to monitor your balance at over 100 times per second to maintain balance and ensure your safety.
Is it difficult to learn?
Not at all! Most people feel confident within 5-10 minutes. Each tour includes about 20 minutes of orientation and training prior to leaving for the tour. We will not leave until everyone is comfortable on their Segway.
What is the minimum age requirement?
All riders must be at least 12 years old with an adult accompanying them if under the age of 18. They must also weigh at least 100 pounds and no more than 280 pounds to ride our Segways.
How fast and far can they go?
The Segway can reach speeds of up to 12.5 miles per hour and travel up to 24 miles on a single charge.
Are reservations required?
Making reservations are required and tours fill up quickly. We only have tour guides scheduled when we have tours booked. To increase your chance of getting your desired day and time click BOOK NOW or please call us at (608) 790-5419. Walk-ins are welcome when available.
What do I need to wear?
We recommend closed toe flat shoes and appropriate clothing for that day's expected weather. Each of our Segways comes with a tour bag large enough to carry a small purse, wallet, water bottle, keys, and other personal belongings.
What happens if it rains?
Segways are designed to run in rain, fog, and cold weather. We run rain or shine, but for moderate to heavy rain, tours will be rescheduled.
Do I have to wear a helmet?
Yes! Because safety is our number one concern, each rider must wear a helmet! A helmet will be provided for each rider free of charge.
Where do we meet?
We are located on the North end of Riverside Park near the International Friendship Gardens and the Visitor's Center. Look for the black trailer on the right side of the park. There is parking available on site that is to be used for while the tour takes place.
What is your refund policy?
We offer a 100% refund if the reservation is cancelled more than 48 hours (2 days) before the scheduled tour. If no notice is given within 48 hours, we will refund half the amound due.
Can I ride if I'm pregnant?
As stated before our number one concern is safety. So we're sorry but pregnant women are not allowed to ride.
Do you give any discounts?
If you're up for an adventure and a challenge, we do offer a 10% discount if you book an a session for our escape room. Also, we give a 10% Military discount. You must call to get those discounts.
Do I need to pay with a credit card?
No, we accept cash or credit cards. If you would like to pay cash, we will still need a credit card on file to hold the reservation, and you can pay cash upon arrival.
Are gratuities included in the price?
No. We want to keep our prices as affordable as possible for our guests. As in any service business, although not required, a tip is greatly appreciated!
Is it safe during COVID-19?
Yes. We will do everything we can to provide the safest and cleanest experience possible. We now offer a contactless check-in process. We always have and will continue to sanitize the helmets after every tour and we now also sanitize the handlebars. Finally, as we embark on the tour keep in mind we always keep a 6 foot following distance for safe social distancing guidelines.
